Cocktails and Curators celebrates the achievements and contributions of curators to contemporary culture with MEDIUM's Curatorial Excellence Award. Past awardees include Paola Antonelli (Senior Curator, Department of Architecture and Design/Director of R&D, The Museum of Modern Art), Mary Ceruti (Executive Director/Chief Curator, SculptureCenter) and Klaus Biesenbach (Director, MoMA PS1/Chief Curator at Large, The Museum of Modern Art).
The Rules..., taught by Amani Olu and Larry Ossei-Mensah, is a 5-hour workshop that empowers artists to chart their own path toward success. The duo has taught the course at the Rhode Island School of Design, the School of Visual Arts and Residency Unlimited. We help artists learn how to:
- Clearly define their values and artistic practice with confidence
- “Do business” without doing business
- Build support for their work and a community for their ideas
